The Caliraya Falls is just about 1 hour or so of leisurely hike from the Eco Saddle campsite. You'll be passing through a pasture field with rolling green hills and huge rocks protruding from the ground. You could easily forget that you are in Laguna, the scenery almost looked like it is somewhere in Batanes.
The field could also easily be an IR photo lover's dreamscape, that is if the sun will cooperate. In our case it did not so I changed my shooting itinerary. (Plus we hiked there too late in the afternoon)
On top of the highest hill is an excellent view of the mysterious Mt. Banahaw. You'll have a good view of the sunset too from that vantage point.
The falls itself is not that impressive especially in the summer when there is less water. But the scenery along the way is worth the hike.
You can hire a guide in Eco Saddle for Php500.00 if you are not familiar with the trail. You'll also be passing through an old defunct resort and the guide knows the guards/caretakers.
Wow! I love those silhouette shots allan! You are very artistic! Parang kumakanta kayo ng "the hills are alive..." :)
